
He soon left hosting when he got his first part in the feature film " Riff Raff"-earning a Best Supporting Actor Award at the Tenerife Film Festival (beating out William Hurt for the Award). Besides telling drunken people to be quiet and explaining where the bathrooms were, Rob was able to watch the veterans on stage every night, as they wrote, improvised and re-shaped new shows. Upon graduation, he moved to Middletown, Connecticut to study film at Wesleyan University with Janine Basinger, where he received an Honors B.A for his 16mm thesis film, " Entry."Īfter graduation, Rob returned to The Second City, working as a host on the night staff. During his summer breaks from school, Rob attended academic programs at Cambridge University, Harvard and NYU. Robert Belushi was born in Chicago, where he made his first stage appearance at The Second City, as the New Year's Baby of 1981.

Since moving to LA, Cooper has used those silly voices and impersonations in the animated feature Escape From Planet Earth, the Klasky-Csupo animated series Splat, Comedy Central's The Ben Show, Disney's Electric Spoofaloo and as a cast member in the 2012 revival of In Living Color on Fox.Ĭooper also has had lead roles in several indie films including The Guy Who's F*cking Your Girlfriend, The Perfect Host opposite David Hyde Pierce, and most recently with Dean Cain in the ION original movie Defending Santa.Īs a founding member of the award-winning sketch group Frog Island, he has produced several winning shorts for NBC's It's Your Show competition and SyFy's Viral Video Showdown sold the web-series Pacino & Pacino Talent Agency to C omedy Central's, and his numerous funny videos have accumulated millions of hits on YouTube. He studied theatre, film and fine arts at Eastern Michigan University, and worked professionally at Ann Arbor's Performance Network Theatre -where he won an Oakland Press Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Wit, and Detroit's Gem Theatre under the direction of Jeff Daniels.
